Dear 2026 Bride: How to Enjoy Your Engagement Season | Tampa Wedding Photographer

Wedding Planning

Dear 2026 Bride,

Buy the hat that says Bride.

Try on way too many wedding dresses.

Invest in the photographer.

Celebrate this season of your life.

And whatever you do…

don’t rush through it.

I know life encourages us to rush everything these days.

Book the venue.

Check the boxes.

Move on to the next thing.

But your engagement season was never meant to be rushed.

It’s meant to be savored.

Stop and look around.

Buy something with sparkles on it.

Call your partner fiancé every chance you get just because you can.

Pop the champagne.

Maybe drink a little too much of it.

Take the dance lessons… even if you’re not sure you’ll actually use them for your first dance.

Because one day the planning will be over.

Advice for Newly Engaged Couples from a Tampa Wedding Photographer

The dress will be packed away.

The music will stop.

Your flowers will dry.

Your guests will go home.

And what you’ll have left are the memories of a season that only happens once.

The season where you were planning a life together.

Where everything felt exciting and new and just a little bit overwhelming.

Where you were becoming something new together.

A family.

So celebrate it.

Slow down.

Take too many photos.

Be present in the in-between moments.

Because years from now when you look back at your wedding photos, you won’t just remember the day.

You’ll remember the season.

And I hope it was one you truly lived.

So buy the sparkly shoes.

Try the champagne.

Call him fiancé one more time.

And most importantly…

Be the bride.

Love,

Your wedding photographer
